Let us hike on Mt McCoy today..and take a view at Presidential Library hosting #GOPDebate

Some, generally rich, folk will gather at this place today and talk about how to make rich richer in this country. Cursing but not offering any viable solution on immigration or healthcare... Millions of us will tune in on CNN (Crap No News) to watch them and get brainwashed.. They will tell you that unless you give tax breaks to rich, no jobs will be created (I know this will be left for Presidential debates and may not be here on this GOP debate) though the fact is Bush's tax breaks caused more job loss and pain for the economy..but anyway, I am planning to go on Mt McCoy today evening and take few more shots with some zoom lens. At least, I know I will be able to enjoy beautiful sunset. Interested in joining? Today at 6PM.

Simi Peak, China Flat HIke from Lindero Canyon

This is one of the most beautiful hikes in this north-western part of Los Angeles. It is located at 40 miles on the 101 north from Los Angeles downtown.

You can reach the trailhead from Lindero Canyon exit on 101 and going north on Lindero Canyon road for about 3 miles. After you cross Kanan Rd, the trail head is on the left hand side at exactly one mile. So keep an eye on the odometer of your car after you pass Kanan Rd.

This hike has three major parts. The first part of around mile to mile and half is a sort of tiring/difficult climb which can prove a challenge for first time hikers (it is not very difficult though). This takes you to the second part of the trail which is flat which is called China Flat. Here you will see trail junctions and if you are there for the first time, you can get confused. So follow this simple rule: take left when confused. This second part is very quiet with beautiful Oak trees. You go around mile to mile and a half on the China Flat and then you will start getting beautiful arial views of Woodranch and Simi Valley on the right hand side.
From here starts the third part which a climb again. This is relative short part which takes you the top of the mountains in this part. Right below from this top, you will see Oak Park and probably you can find your car too. On the further western side, you will see some parts of thousand oaks. On the northen side, you can see Simi Valley and if the sky is clear enough, you can also see Fernando valley on the eastern side.

(more to be continued..

Simi Peak, China Flat HIke from Lindero Canyon,

Lahikers,

I am glad I made it home in time! Deepa is gone to downtown (for hiking and shopping LOL) and I am here babysitting Arian. He is sleeping so I am having fun time with my computer right now...Let me share a joke...

**************An artist, a lawyer, and a computer scientist are discussing the merits of a mistress.
An artist tells of the passion, the thrill which comes with he risk of being discovered.
A lawyer warns of the difficulties. It can lead to guilt, divorce, bankruptcy. Not worth it. Too many problems.
A computer scientist says "It's the best thing that's ever happened to me. My wife thinks I'm with my mistress. My mistress thinks I'm home with my wife, and I can spend all night on the computer"**************

I just posted some pictures under Simi Peak album on Google:http://picasaweb.google.com/whydoineedausername
(This 2MP broken Nikon I bring on hikes is my another "hiking buddy". Its LCD is broken and I find it 'adventurous' to use it because I can not make any set up changes-like exposure, flash, macro or scene modes- nor can I see any picture after I take it! Like an old fashioned Film camera, I have to wait to see my pictures and I have to use the view-finder- not LCD- to take pictures! This is a real point-and-shoot camera of mine!)

EyeFetch, this my recent addiction. Look at some of our hiking pictures there under lahikers:

(You can also see all of my pictures, includin some great pictures of Yosemite, too at

Today's hike turned out to be a great fun. Thanks to everyone for showing up in time. Special thanks to Sreeni, Anukul, Hardik for bringing food items to share. Thanks to Manu for adding fun to this tough hike and thanks to Ravi for showing interest in buying Lahikers' hiking insurance! Thank you Biju for bringing camera and taking pictures of all of us-we can't wait to see them- and it was good of you, Krishna, to be with us after saying goodbye to all of us yesterday. We will miss you on our future LAHikers' hikes. Maybe some day, when this fukkad LAhikers club becomes rich with Google Adsense on our blog (LOL), we all will go to some great Grand Canyon hike together in your soon-to-be home state of Arizona. All the best to you my friend.

Suman, we missed you, particularly at certain points where I was confused which trail to take to reach to the peak. I am doing one thing here to LAHikers joint vision about a nice hiking blog. I am practicing blogging by writing in this email! Let us add this email as first entry to our hiking blog.

I know it was a tough hike but we all made it today and I am just curious to know who of us LAhikers made it to this line of this loooooooooong email today!

Thank god Arian is waking up so I got to stop making this email any longer.(Let me know if someone is looking for a cell phone plan. I am tired of t-mobile. I ordered Moto Q with Sprints (under employee referral program) for net -50$ (I make money if/when I get 150$ rebate) with 500 minutes for 30$. Unlimited nights and weekends starting 7PM and unlimited PCS vision- internet. No activation fee but you need to signup for a 2 year plan.)

Have a great weekend.Thanks.Jayesh Patel
